1 – your vision & décor style

Start with a few words to describe your style for wedding décor & flowers.

Choose a few descriptive words that you’re drawn to for your overall wedding. It can be a mix of two styles or a few words that describe the same style – totally up to you! This will be the starting point that gives you direction for the rest of planning your wedding décor & flowers.

For example, if you decide on the word “romantic” there are certain design choices that will capture this vibe. A heavy filled room with candle light, your colour scheme, Fluffy, petal-filled flowers & lush greenery are considered romantic, so you would want to lean more into those elements with this style.

Find a few colours that you are drawn to.

Your wedding colours will be represented through your décor & flowers. Start with a colour palette that you love and go from there! We love to work with blending tones, and pops of colour so that your eye moves smoothly across your venue space. When thinking about decor and colour, keep an open mind! It’s amazing how much of a difference subtle uses of pops of colour or blending & highlighting can make your décor & flowers stand out.

2 - Determine your wedding décor budget

When deciding on your wedding Décor & floral budget, you’ll want to narrow down which décor & floral elements are the most important to you. Often, these heavy hitters are your stage/ backdrop or a floral arch, ceremony flowers, large installations or reception table centrepiece designs. These are the items that will make the biggest statement on your wedding day.

If you’re under a tighter budget, you can pay more attention to your stage or backdrop design, a selection of statement centre pieces or a top table. Wedding décor & florals add up quickly, especially table centrepieces! If your wedding is over 100 people there can be a lotttt of tables and floral arrangements to pay for, but we have some tips for you!

Mix It Up

If your dream is to have the most gorgeous stage/backdrop design, spend the extra in this area, it will be the most photographed area of your day. For your centrepieces Stay budget-friendly by mixing up your tablescapes! Use a variety of bud vases, and candles surrounded by greenery and flowers, or mix small arrangements with large arrangements to really maximise your space without breaking the bank.

By giving your room movement and balance, various designs will fill the space and not seem like you’re sparing any cost on centrepieces. By switching up your designs, table to table – not only will this create a unique look but you can also save a lot more money! Traditional medium to large centrepieces cost a LOT more than a couple of bud vases, candles and nestled greenery.

Reuse & Repurpose

Another wonderful way to utilise your décor & floral budget wisely is by repurposing the larger items (those that aren’t installed) towards other parts of your wedding day or ceremony.

For example, if you have impressive aisle florals for your ceremony, consider moving them to your reception centrepieces or in front of your sweet-heart table as a framing piece! If you do decide to repurpose a floral arrangement elsewhere on your wedding day just be sure it works in the space. Speaking to your wedding designer will help plan the best way to repurpose your décor & florals.
